Ashburton townhouse

A mediterranean-inspired retreat within the walled garden of an 18th century townhouse.

A full makeover was requested for this historic property to include new terraces, retaining walls, a bespoke pergola, fruit trees, a cutting garden & deep borders bursting with roses, flowering shrubs and perennials.

Beginning with a rebuild of the crumbling boundary walls, across 2024/2025 we remodelled the entire site from a weed-riddled slope to an elegant series of four terraces. Connected via a series of stone steps, a 6-meter rose-covered oak pergola leads onto a gravelled entertaining space, over a new formal lawn and up into a private garden with sun-trap seating, espallier fruit trees, a greenhouse, cutting garden & hot composting area. Automatic watering and wirelessly controlled lighting complete the design .
